Professional Tabletop Easel

Problem

Traditional tabletop easels are primarily made of wood. While this material is a market standard due to its long-standing association with the art industry, it lacks durability. Painting is a messy process, and paint often spreads onto the easel body, damaging the wood, degrading its aesthetic, and making it difficult to clean. Additionally, wooden easels are labor-intensive to manufacture and require longer production time. They are also often visually and physically heavy. Although aluminum has been introduced as an alternative material, but they often adopt a utilitarian aesthetic that lacks the tactile warmth and heritage of traditional artist tools.



Objective 

Benefiting from aluminum extrusion properties to redesign traditional tabletop easels without compromising visual appeal.

Adjustment 

The easel mechanism uses three interconnected pivot points that move in sync as the supports slide inside the extrusion channel, enabling smooth angle adjustment.



Mirrorable Extrusion 


  • Larger surface area without a large  die or multiple dies, making it cost effective to produce. 
  • Creates channels for angle adjustment and height adjustment, while allowing proper locking.
